Our Team

Founder-Lead

Faith City is being pioneered by Kevin Johnson, a Portland native, musician, and worship leader with a heart for creating spaces where people can encounter God and grow in purpose. Rooted in a Pentecostal upbringing and a family grounded in traditional church life, Kevin’s faith has been shaped by strong foundations as well as lived experience beyond conventional settings. Through global travel, creativity, and deep engagement with people and place, he has developed a perspective that allows him to connect across cultures and backgrounds with authenticity, humility, and care.

Influenced by music, movement, architecture, and shared meals, Kevin believes environments matter—how spaces are designed, how people are welcomed, and how community is experienced. He is passionate about creating places that feel intentional, alive, and accessible, where faith is expressed with excellence and sincerity.

As an active presence in Portland, Kevin understands both the beauty and the challenges of the city. This awareness fuels his passion for restoration, authentic worship, sound biblical teaching, and faith lived out through service and action.

Kevin’s vision for Faith City is to help cultivate love, community, spiritual depth, and excellence throughout Portland—serving individuals and families who desire to grow in their relationship with God and with one another.

Inspired by global travel, meaningful conversation, and the power of well-designed spaces.

“Save others by snatching them from the fire.” — Jude 1:23

The Vision for Faith City PDX

Founders Statement

Faith City is envisioned as a state-of-the-art community and cultural center rooted in faith, excellence, and service-designed to contribute meaningfully to the creative, social, and spiritual life of Portland. At its core, Faith City exists to create access: access to community, resources, mentorship, health, and inspiration. It is a place where people from all backgrounds are welcomed, supported, and empowered to grow with dignity and purpose.

  • Faith City is designed to serve as a welcoming, multi-use facility in the Historic Vanport/Delta Park area that host community events, creative gatherings, educational programs, and public experiences that bring people together across cultures, generations, and lived experiences.

The culture of Faith City is intentionally inclusive and city facing - reflecting the diversity of Portland while maintaining a clear commitment to integrity, hospitality, and excellence. Our goal is to be a trusted and reputable source of inspiration, known for the quality of what we build and the care with which we serve.

  • Music and the arts play a vital role in shaping the atmosphere of Faith City. The creative sound and expression within our space are gospel-influenced, grounded in spiritual depth, and musical excellence, yet intentionally open, collaborative, and reflective of many cultures and styles.

Faith City exists to provide a platform where:

    • Artists and musicians of diverse backgrounds can collaborate

    • Creative expression is welcomed with purpose and respect

    • Excellence, originality, and meaning are prioritized over labels

This approach allows Faith City to honor its spiritual foundation while remaining culturally accessible—creating experiences that resonate with the wider community, not just one audience.

  • Faith City PDX functions as a connector within the community, working alongside local organizations, leaders, and service providers to help individuals and families access practical resources, education, and guidance. The focus is empowerment —support that leads to stability, growth, and long-term wellbeing.

  • A foundational initiative within Faith City’s long-term vision is a Youth Independent Living Program, centered around a property owned and stewarded by the organization. This program is designed to support at-risk young men transitioning into adulthood through mentorship, structure, life-skills development, and accountability.

The goal is to build confidence, responsibility, and a clear vision for the future.

  • Faith City also envisions a fitness and wellness environment that supports physical and mental health through accessible, community-oriented programming. Offerings include:

    • Group strength training

    • Pilates and movement-based classes

    • Dance and expressive fitness

A thoughtfully designed lounge and juice bar creates additional space for rest, conversation, and connection—reinforcing the idea that wellness is both physical and relational.

  • Faith City is committed to advancing financial literacy, generational thinking, and family stability. Through education, mentorship, and shared learning, individuals and families are encouraged to build sustainable lives rooted in wisdom, responsibility , and long-term vision.

  • Faith City seeks to be known throughout Portland as a place of excellence, integrity, and creativity— a space that reflects care, professionalism, and deep respect for the city and its people.

A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”
